DiXiM Media Player

Based on Player and Renderer features to play content stored in server devices existing on the home network, DigiOn offers firmware module for digital media adaptor (DMA) devices and STBs with a feature to play Internet content directly and support for TV tuners for ISDB-T and ISDB-S.
Combining with various features listed below allows developers to develop products meeting the needs of end users in a short period.

Network Player Feature

DigiOn's strong foundation of technical knowledge and contributions to the DLNA have been taken advantage of DMP(Digital Media Player) and DMR(Digital Media Renderer) features defined in DLNA Guidelines v1.5. The code base of DiXiM Media Player comes from DiXiM DMA and DiXiM DMR, proven DLNA Certified devices, and is proud of its full interpretability. Furthermore combining with DiXiM DTCP-IP SDK enables streaming playback of Japanese digital broadcasting programs. WMDRM-ND can be supported as well.

Local Content Player Feature

Feature to play multimedia content stored in embedded/USB-connected hard disk drive or USB memory, or memory card via USB card reader is available. In addition content on USB-connected iPod can also play. Contents can be displayed seamlessly regardless of whether they are stored locally or on the network.

Internet Player Feature

Feature to play Internet content directly from popular websites, such as YouTube and Flickr, allows users to enjoy countless contents existing on the Internet. Web browsers can be implemented with RSS feed reading and PodCast supports; users can experience the Internet without PCs.

Support for Digital TV tuner

Combining with TV tuner hardware for ISDB-T (terrestrial digital broadcasting) and ISDB-S (BS/CS digital broadcasting), ARIB stack can be offered to realize EPG and data broadcasting features specific for digital broadcasting.

Media Server Feature

In combination with data storage devices including hard disk drive for storing content data, DMS (Digital Media Server) feature defined in DLNA Guidelines can be added. The feature is equivalent to DiXiM Media Server, the de facto server among top manufactures in the home networking industry.
