Fukuoka, Japan – DigiOn has developed DTCP-IP enabled DLNA certified player and server applications compatible with Windows 7. The applications allow users to share and enjoy content, including digital broadcasting programs, over the home network. These applications have been adopted for NEC’s new PCs for individuals, the Windows 7-based VALUESTAR and LaVie series to be released on Jan. 21st, 2010, furthering their adoption in the series’ 2009 winter models.
These NEC PCs for individuals come pre-installed with DigiOn's Home Network Player powered by DiXiM, a custom version of DigiOn's DiXiM Digital TV plus DTCP-IP enabled player, and Home Network Server powered by DiXiM, itself based on the proven DTCP-IP enabled server DiXiM Media Server.
By installing these applications provided by DigiOn, the NEC PCs have obtained the following DLNA certifications, permitting support for various use cases defined in the DLNA Guidelines:
Among the above features, DMS, DMP, DMC, and DMR are compatible with DTCP-IP and are capable of streaming and playing back digital broadcasting programs.
Through the development and sales of DTCP-IP compatible DLNA enabled applications, DigiOn continues to promote the usage of digital broadcasting programs over the network with DLNA technologies and DTCP-IP.
