DigiOn Develops Applications For Receiving And Recording
Terrestrial/BS/110 Degree CS Digital Broadcasting Programs,
Adopted For I-O DATA DEVICE,INC.’s Digital High-Vision Tuner

Fukuoka, Japan – DigiOn has developed a new tuner and recorder compatible with terrestrial, BS and 110 degree CS digital broadcasting programs. These products have been adopted for HVT-BCT300, a terrestrial/BS/110 degree CS digital high-vision tuner to be released by I-O DATA DEVICE,INC in mid February, 2010, as a part of its firmware.

HVT-BCT300 includes a terrestrial/BS/110 degree CS digital tuner, enabling not only the viewing of digital broadcasting programs but also the recording of terrestrial/BS digital broadcasting programs by connecting an optional USB hard disk.

Additionally, the embedded DiXiM Media Player application implemented in the HVT-BCT300 takes advantage of DigiOn's home network expertise to provide the following features.

  • Digital media player (DMP) functionality enables multimedia content saved on home network's media servers to be played back over the network.
  • Digital media renderer (DMR) capability allows content to be playback in response to commands from other controlling devices.
  • Both DMP and DMR features support DTCP-IP, permitting playback of digital broadcasting programs recorded with DTCP-IP enabled server devices.
  • The DMR feature will be obtaining the Compatible with Windows 7 logo as a Windows 7 Network Media Device Digital Media Renderer, in addition to DLNA Certified™ certification as a DLNA® Digital Media Renderer (DMR).

DigiOn offers a wide variety of digital broadcasting program and DTCP-IP enabled products, including these new receiver and recorder applications for digital broadcasting programs, the DiXiM Media Player for embedded players, the DiXiM Media Server series for server devices, and the DiXiM Digital TV series player software for Windows PCs. The company continues to promote the usage of digital broadcasting programs over the network with DLNA technologies and DTCP-IP.
